Fixing it the Old Fashioned Way

Mine's a '95 Rodeo 3.2L 4WD with 115K miles on it. Recently, the washer fluid pump stopped working. I knew it wasn't a fuse because the wipers still worked and they're on the same circuit as the washer. I was about to take the washer fluid tank/pump assembly out when I remembered what my long-deceased Dad would have done. Before removing a suspect part, he would beat on it with a hammer to see if that fixed it. (Sometimes it did.) I found I could get a good whack at the washer fluid pump with a small ball-peen hammer. Actually, it was more like a solid tap than a "whack." Anyway, that fixed it and the washer pump works like new again. Fixed the old fashioned way....
