2002 Liberty A/C Problem

Hello All,
I am having a problem with my 2002 Liberty A/C and was wondering if someone could help.
When the a/c is turned on the system is blowing cool air but not cold as it should. I have noticed that the clutch turns on for a period of 3-4 seconds and then turns off for 2-3 seconds before coming back on and repeating the sequence. The line running to the evap. gets cold to the point where condensation forms on the lines but still I have no exteremly cold air just cool as though I have the windows down.
Any help would be apprciated before taking it in to the shop and getting hosed.
Thanks

Re: 2002 Liberty A/C Problem

those are the symptoms of your system being low on freon. might try topping it off and seeing if it holds the freon for a long amount of time. mike
