Tamiya Benetton Ford B192

I apologize for the double post- I'm a total dork! I'm really glad to finally post something in this forum. I've never done this before so please hang in there with me.

This was a year and half long project and encompassed many firsts. Includes lathed and machined parts- the focus was on the engine compartment. Please excuse the quality of the pictures. Please let me know what you think- good, bad and ugly. Thanks to all!

Re: Tamiya Benetton Ford B192

Excellent looking model, with great detail!
Bigger pictures would help us see the detail better.

Thank you! If you scroll down, you'll find really oversized photos- my first attempt at this thread. I've learned so much from everyone in this forum and now extremely exited to be apart of it.

Re: Tamiya Benetton Ford B192

Greaat job on the engine. I love the small details like the bump stops in the shocks and the fuel pressure regulator. The coloring on the exhaust is excellent.

You should do a "work in progress". Some of us could learn alot watching you attend to the details.

Re: Tamiya Benetton Ford B192

Awesome work there dude.
Attention to detail & the finish is fantastic.

I think what some of the other guys were trying to tell you is to resize the pic (ie L x W) rather than actual file size. This would allow us to see all the glorious details much better.
Also, you are teasing us with just the finished product. If you could make a WIP thread in the in progress section to show your in progress pics(if you took them) I am sure a lot of people would be interested and appreciate it.

Thanks
Nenad

Excellent build! That's still one of my favorite F1 cars.

Wow! Yes, bigger photos would help, anyway neat execution and well done engine wiring.

Re: Tamiya Benetton Ford B192

Thanks to all of you! Suggesting that I post a WIP is the biggest compliment I can think of and I didn't anticipate that- seriously! I'm relatively new to this hobby and started out a huge race fan. I was born and raised in northern Calif. and attended numerous races and events at Sears Point(Infinion) and Laguna Seca. This hobby became an extension of that enthusiasm.

I started out this project in November 07 and that Christmas received a lathe/ milling machine and attachments (Unimat) as a present- props to Bruce and Joan for that. A WHOLE NEW WORLD OPENED UP! Needless to say, I had a lot to learn and it was awesome. Then, my son was born July of 08, our first. I was actually surprised when this model was done- it will be for him provided that at some point he's interested. So far, he's watched this season's F1 races with me.

I'll try to get some better pictures that show more detail and post them accordingly.

Next on the bench is the Carrera GT kit- box stock only. After that, I'm pretty sure it will be a Tamiya Porsche GT1. That will be detailed. My bro and I attended a FIA GT Champonship race at Laguna Seca in '97 which had GT1's, Merc. CLK GTR's, McLaren F1's- really cool!

Thanks again to all of you- it made my day, hell... my month!
