97 S-10 Studder and Stalling

I have a 97 s10 with a rebuilt engine, only 25k miles on the engine and tranny.

One day the truck started to studder and stall. I had someone pull the codes on my truck, it came back multiple misfires. I changed the spark plugs and wires, had a mechanic correctly gap the spark plugs to .060.

My wires are not arching.

Still having the same problem. I cleaned the MAF Sensor and the EGR Valve.

Same problem.

I added a new fuel filter.

Still the same problem.

The truck struggles to stay on, and sometimes under heavy acceleration, the truck stalls out completely.

Whats wrong with this thing?

What engine?
How many missfire and on what cylinders?

Check fuel pressure.
Is it up to specs?
Is the spark to all plugs good hot and blue?
What kind of spark plugs did you use in it?

The engine is a 4.3X. When the guy pulled the code, it said mulitple misfire. I put Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs in.

Fuel Pressure is good.

Yes, all sparks are hot and blue.

Once I put the new spark plugs in and wires, i didnt get the misfire code anymore.

But the truck still stalls and studders.

Gike how good on fuel pressure.
What is the fuel pressure readings on it?

What is the camshaft retard readings?

Drop the bosh plugs in the trash can and get some good AC delco plugs in it.

I had to have the fuel pressure checked again. I had someone check it for me and they said it was good. I'd have to call him and see if he remembers or if he can test again for me.

Camshaft retard readings??? Confused.

I would use a stethoscope and listen to the injectors. Listen for one that sounds different. Use a DVOM and ohm each injector look for one or two with large different readings.
Use a can of carburetor cleaner and spray around the intake a vacuum leak will smooth out immediately if the spray hits it.
You can also check compression a rocker arm could be coming loose.

Camshaft retard settings can be read out with a good engine capable scanner.
If it is off it will cause missfire.also low fuel pressure will to.
