Rasing from the depth and old geo

My daughters fiance, has brought me a 1994 4 dr geo metro with a 3 cylinder motor and 5 spd tranny.

I was sitting in a field, and had no water pump in it. the timing cover and several other items are missing.

I have a complete 1993 3 cylinder, and a spare 95 motor in my shop to use for parts.

We have replaced the water pump, and have now moved on to installing the timing belt, only to find none of the belts will fit. the 95 is wider, and the 93 is narrow. Are they all the same length, just different widths? I cant get the darn belt on, no matter what I try.

Also, attempting to remove the bolt off of the crack timing gear (pulley already gone) is next to impossible, the motor turns even with the car in gear, it simply moves the car, and the brakes arent any help as they need to be freed up.

My idea is to raise up the car, and partially drop the motor to get access to the pulley bolt, and try an impact on it.

Any ideas to help speed this up a bit?

i think the haynes manual say to jam a screwdriver or ? into the teeth of the flywheel as needed. carefully of course.

yeah thats how we got it off the motor in the garage. But the motor in the car is already hooked up to the trans and all so the flywheels not accessible.

it's a manual trans? unless models differ, i think you can remove a sheet metal plate at the bottom of the trans / block joint and access the flywheel.

There is a slot in the bottom of the transmission bell housing that you can stick a good heavy duty screwdriver into that will lock the flywheel from turning. Jack the right side of the car up enough to take off the wheel. Put it on a jackstand and use a 17mm box end wrench to loosen the bolt. If you can't get it to budge use a floor jack to put pressure on the end of the wrench. I've done this on the last three cars I've worked on and it works great. You may need to use a piece of 2x4 to wedge in next to the wrench so it will lift straight without bending. When it breaks loose, and it will , it does it with a lot of force and makes a loud cracking sound.
