Rear brake issue

Doing my inspection today I noticed that the rear rotor hat has some wear on it. It looks like the egde of the pad must be hitting the edge of the hat. There appears to be plenty of clearance between the pad and the hat. Is the caliper/bracket flexing that much? What else could be happening?

Re: Rear brake issue

Rotors are fine unless your wear through the vent ridges or crack to the outer edge. If there is an outer lip pad may not exend to the perimeter...right pads installed??? Use a grinder or brake lathe to remove if it gets inhibiting

Re: Rear brake issue

I see what you mean. Plenty of clearance between the caliper/pad, and hte hat. Could debris have gotten stuck in the caliper and ground off the edge of the hat and those washers? SOme times rocks get in there and cause all kinda of problems.

Looks like it's okay now, but the next time you change out rotors, you'll have to replace all the hardware too.

Re: Rear brake issue

I was always told to replace the hardware every time you change rotors? If anyone is interested I have perf. friction new hardware that we dont need anymore.

I'm interested. How many wheel sets of fasteners do you have? What do you want for the hardware?

Please PM me with the details. Many thanks.
