MAF Cleaner experiment

Well, I just gave it a go with my MAF sensor.

Being a cheap jerk, I decided to buy a can of spray cleaner, and see if that would do the trick.

It did not.

No questions here today, more of just a pointout to folks that if you want to try it yourself, and don't have the right tools, I got everything I needed at Autozone for less than 20 bones. Cover off, sensor out in moments. The whole thing took just a few minutes to try, and I figure it's smart to try the cheap out first!

Your Pal,

Mr. C

Re: MAF Cleaner experiment

It is a simple part to remove and attempt to clean. It's mounted with 2 screws that have a t-20 tamperproof torx head, just make sure you use MAF sensor specific cleaner, not brake clean or carb clean. Cleaning doesn't always help, but it's simple and worth a try considering the cost of a new/reman MAF sensor.
