I've got an issue where BOTH the cig lighter & the aux power ports (12v) are not working despite the obvious ...a good fuse in the fuse panel. Alittle help would be appreciated...thanks......

Re: '06 Chevy Express 4.3 Lighter/Aux Power ports
In addition to a visual inspection, did you test the fuse for continuity? I learned that one that hard way.

Re: '06 Chevy Express 4.3 Lighter/Aux Power ports
Yes..I checked the fuse, the fuse panel (both sides) and even the wiring back to the sockets. It appears that BOTH sockets are not conducting voltage. Now I'll need to pull the dash and replace the outlets. 1 is a lighter and the other is just a power point. I'm not sure why these are so sensitive that they would blow at such a low amperage but they did. May try to locate something after-market with a higher rating. Bottom line is DO NOT try to run an inverter off of these outlets or you may FRY the outlets.....GO FIGURE

A factor repair manual or a. http://www.alldata.com/products/diy/index.html Is good for wiring diagrams. Good luck

Not ready to subscribe to a pay site just yet.
BTW..I checked the fuse, the fuse panel (both sides) and even the wiring & ground back to the sockets. It appears that BOTH sockets are not conducting voltage. Now I'll need to pull the dash and replace the outlets. 1 is a lighter and the other is just a power point. GM would love for me to bring it in but at this point thats not going to happen. I'd love your thoughts about hard-wiring straight to a 400w cab mounted inverter and by-passing the sockets all together? thanks tp |
