How to put the starter back.
I changed the starter in my 96 jetta but the bolts dont go back in. ther is a support that holds the transmission and and the starter bolts go throught it. Now after buying a new starter the bolts dont go in cause the holes in the support do not aline with the holes in the transmission. IF anyone had this problem before and knows what to do , I will really apreciate it. thank you.

Re: How to put the starter back.
sounds like you gotta realign things...maybe put a jack under transaxle and try to slip em in that way man.

Re: How to put the starter back.
Oh, a friend of mine told me how. You unscrew this huge bolt but dont take it out that holf the transmition and engine to the frame in the front. like you cant miss it. and then things become looser and you can alight it with a jack. So if anyone has that problem. that is how it works.

Re: How to put the starter back.
I had the same problem when i took my tranny off a couple of months ago. After the car is up on jack stands put a jack under the transaxel. Then get a short piece of 2x4 (about 6 inchest) and put it ontop of the jack. Put it at an slight angle into the transaxel and get it stuck on one of the notches on the bottom of the case. then ever so slightly jack it up until the bolts align. When some of those bolts aren't in the engine sort of twists in place so this helped untwist it.
