RSX vs GTI

Hey guys, i need some few tips. Do yall think I can beat a VW GTI 1.8T with my Automatic w/ triptronic RSX. His GTI is brand new, (mine has 2000 miles on it) and he's is manual. The only problem is that he just learned manual. He's not really good at it but he still in the process of learning. He got his yesterday. Do yall think it will be close race? Yall think i have a chance of winning? I have seen website saying rsx go 6.7 for 60 and gti going 6.6 for 60...Can any one gimme some few pointers on racing on triptronic...

Er...I could've sworn the auto RSX ran mid-high 7s? (7.7 I believe?) and the base manual RSX runs low 7s (7.3?)?
