Misfire/Power Steering Stiff
Hello, I recently got my Alero back from the shop 3.4L V6 VIN E GL Coupe 99' 76K and I've noticed the power steering gets WAY stiff when Idle (happened before shop) how can I fix this?
Second, they replaced the spark plugs, Coils, and wires+Hub but it seems to still misfire. What could it possibly be, they cleaned the fuel injectors and it was given a head job i.e;New everything gaskets....Oh where and how can I install a new Fuel Filter? ![]() |

Re: Misfire/Power Steering Stiff
The power steering starts to go a little at a time so if it is stiff when the car isn't moving that's the problem. it could be that it stays this way for a while before it goes (mine has been that way since I got it 3 tears ago and hasn't gotten worse) but more than likely it won't last. If it goes while you're out it will be an expensive tow so get it fixed A.S.A.P.
As for the rest I don't know...good luck tho. |

Ohm resistance acrossed the injector should be 11.4-12.6 ohms. You cant realy test it at the injector as they are under the intake. You can test them from the wire harness just left(pass side) of the coils, large harness plug with 12 wires. On the stiff steering, you might be able to flush the system with some cleanr and new fluid to revive it a little. Pumps are a real PITA to change on these 3.4s. And the fuel filter is in the rear above the axle close to the body and gas tank. Sorry for the late reply and good luck!
