Fuel pump Pressure- 97 lesabre

I have been checking everything for my stalling out problem. After reading these forums I decided to check my Fuel pressure............what do you guys think of these pressures............
At key on ,engine off- 49 PSI
At Idle- 40 PSI
Vacuum line removed from Fuel Pressure Regulator- 50 PSI
Also when I removed the vacuum line from the FPR I noticed a little gas
spitting out of the regulator.Is this normal ???

Looks like you found your problem. There should be no gasoline in the vacuum line, only vacuum. You'll need to replace your fuel regulator.

would this cause a stalling out while driving?...........usually when decelerating.

Yes, you are sucking raw fuel into the intake through the vacuum line. There was a recall on the 98-2000 regulators, but should have included 97! Under certain conditions, a leaking FPR can cause a backfire & explosion. I have actually seen some manifolds totally disintegrate with the explosion. Change that FPR ASAP!

Thanks.I will replace asap.........What is the purpose of the FPR ? to keep a constant
pressure at all times or does it fluctuate with accell and decel ?? Do you know what the normal press. should be with the vacuum line off ?

The pressure fluctuates with engine vacuum, the lower the vacuum the higher the pressure, the higher the vacuum, the lower the pressure. BTW, check your hotmail, I sent you the GM recall notice in pdf. Click Here for a few pics of the manifold explosion! Good luck!
