2006 Grand Caravan A/C

I have a 2006 Grand Caravan. I may be imagining stuff but I think the front AC isn't blowing as cold and the rear AC. How can I check the System? Is this a problem that the GC's have?

Put a thermometer at a front vent and a rear vent for a few minutes and compare. Don't know if there is an established limit but I'd say if they are within 5 deg I'd call it good.

Re: 2006 Grand Caravan A/C

The rear a/c evaporators are notorious to leak on these last model caravans.
you need an A/C machine to charge the system.this is something you might have to take to the shop.To replace the rear evaporator and recharge/leak check the system, you are probably getting charged around 3 hrs labor. (i believe its 2.3 hrs to replace, then what ever they charge you to recharge).

the part itself costs $350 if i remember correctly.

maybe in the old r-12 days? you'd be luck to get 25 deg out of those vents with r134.i usually see 25-30 with the car going down the road, 38-40 deg car sitting in the shop about 90 deg ambient.

I was refering to a 5 degree difference between the air coming out of the rear vents and the air out of the front vents, certainly not a 5 degree reading from a single vent. Hell, we'd all be wearing parkas.
