I have a CX hatch also. In the other models... the rear speakers would normally be located in the side panels of the back seat. If you look at the side panels, you should see one long panel in the middle that looks like it can be removed. In other models... this panel will have a grill because that's where the rear speakers are normally located. What I would do is check out local junk yards and look for this panel in other 5th gen hatches. Also... you may need a few bracket pieces behind the panel as well... but the CX does have a metal bracket behind the panel, though. Just take a look and see what you will need.

If you can't do this... you can opt to do what I did. I bought a rear cargo cover from the dealership (kinda dumb 'cause it was like $115... so look for one at a junk yard) and used a jigsaw to cut holes for my 6x9's in it.
I suppose you can use different speakers as well... like a 6.5" or 5.25" or whatever. If you'd like to know more about how I did it or if you'd like to see some pictures... I'll be glad to take some for you.

I did exactly what your talking about, so go to a junk yard, I think the only HB's that had the speakers are the Si's. But I may be wrong, I've even seen Si's with no speakers in the back so I think it may have just been an option on some cars. Anyway there's a bracket behind that panel he was talking about, basically all it is, is an "L" shaped bracket that has a speaker bracket mounted to it and it bolts right in. Just make sure if you find one that you make sure you remember how to put it in because it looks like it fits more than one way but your outer panel will only fit with it the right way. I know that's confusing but its actually a lot easier than I explained, the hardest part will be finding a civic with those panels.
