Camaro Concept kit
**Walks in and knocks the dust off**
Well its been a long time my friends, I see a lot of you are still around and churning out the great finished projects I'm used to. I haven't really worked on or finished a model in a year or two. Its been too long. I was contacted by a friend yesterday to build a 2010 Camaro model for his girlfriend for her birthday. I was wondering if anyone has built the Revell Snap Tite Camaro Concept kit? If so how is it? What do I need to look for or correct? i picked the kit up today and plan to start on it soon. It may be just what I need to get back into the hobby Thanks Russell

Re: Camaro Concept kit
A lot better than the AMT one. Better, better, and better. I think there might have been a review around here somewhere. Just add the 1/4 windows and its pretty close to a production one.

Re: Camaro Concept kit
thank you! I've already noticed a couple of things. I've glued the fuel door in place and will be puttying that up and making a proper door on the passenger side. spent a little time opening up the panel lines to help give them some depth. hopefully I can have it in paint by the end of the week. As well as retrieve my camera from a friend to share the progress

Re: Camaro Concept kit
The bottom part of the rear bumper is slightly extended on the production Camaro. Also the corner markers sit below the panel lines. Front bumper is also different, so is the dashboard. But if you start worrying about those differences, you can't get the model done, like myself!

I had no issues with my first one...

Re: Camaro Concept kit
hiro, thanks for the intel. This will be a quick build and I will correct just minor issues, such as the gas cap as that is a very obvious difference. The rest, well we will leave that for a future build. This is my first build in a year or two, and a lot of those have yet to be completed.
Tonio, stellar build as always my friend! So far I am very pleased with what I have seen from my mock ups. It doesn't seem to sit insanely high I actually like the stance where the axles are, that may change as I get further in the build. Look for most of the detail and attention to be paid to the main body and highly visible areas of the interior

Re: Camaro Concept kit
Hopefully in a year or two, we will get a production. One other huge detail. The roof on the concept seems a little chopped.

Re: Camaro Concept kit
Not to hijack your thread, but there are many possibilities for this kit.
Our club (Baton Rouge Scale Modelers) used it as the basis for a multi-club 'Everyone build the same kit' challenge with the results on display at our show a couple of months ago. Here are some of the examples (a couple didn't get finished and are displayed 'in progress'): As Modern Art: ![]() As Hovercraft Utility Vehicle: ![]() Stock: ![]() As Police Interceptor: ![]() As Anti-gravity Sci/Fi vehicle: ![]() As a rolling Bassoon (built by a professional bassoonist): ![]() As a Apocalyptic German Assault Vehicle:
