Exclamation 94 ga tranny problems

Its a 94 grand am , 2.3. Engine runs perfect, but when its put in drive it dies. I lifted one of the wheels off the ground and put the car in drive. the engine didn't die but the wheel spinned very fast, as if the transmission was in 3rd or 2nd gear. This problem does not happen in reverse nor neutral. I tried to retrieve the codes from the pcm, but the aldl connector its missing the terminal i have to ground. It has only 3 terminals. So would appreciate if you guys could help me with this too. I don't have the test box to test the tranny.

Re: 94 ga tranny problems

Does it die with the engine cold and hot ?

If so it could be the TCC gone out.

On the connector, does it have any letters on it ?
If so ground B to A(pcm grnd). You know how to do it from there ?

Re: 94 ga tranny problems

your obd 1 connector has 12 pins

F E D C B A
G - - - - M

so jump the last two terminals in the top row
