Show me your cool-shirt setup.

Think I could mount the small cooler in the rear interior sheet metal behind the seats? I know it's a downward angle, but wonder if it'd work.

Anyone have one? Have pics? (hint... this means you Eric!) I want to keep space for a passenger for the time being.

Re: Show me your cool-shirt setup.

I couldn't get my cooler in and out of that space behind the seats (at least when my roof was on). I would also be concerned about the cooler sitting at that angle and water wanting to come out of it.

Mine is located in the trunk over the fuel cell. This may not be possible if you still ave the 34 gallon fuel cell. I have changed mine to a 20 gallon ATL cell. David's is mounted on the passener floor and passengers just have to put thier legs over it.

Re: Show me your cool-shirt setup.

I was thinking about doing it in the rear around the fuel cell... but we've still got the big one. May have to replace it for NASA specs so will consider a smaller one. Any pics of your setup?

Front also works right in front of the seat I guess.

Re: Show me your cool-shirt setup.

Mine is mounted to the passenger floor. Plenty of room without a passenger seat. I doubt anyone would ride with me anyway!

Re: Show me your cool-shirt setup.

Brian, I made my own cool suit setup except for the shirt, which I purchased. I used Colder dry break connectors. They're used for medical / food tubing. Bilge pump from West Marine. Coleman cooler. I'll get you the part numbers later. It was easy and I saved a bunch of money vs buying the entire setup.

Re: Show me your cool-shirt setup.

Brian, here is the setup I used:

- Bilge pump:

Rule 360gph
http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...5&classNum=304

- Colder Connectors:

(2) P/N NS4D42004 - 2 male bulkhead fittings for the cooler
(4) P/N NS4D17004 - 4 female fittings for hose from cooler to your shirt
(2) P/N NS4D22004 - 2 male fittings to replace the fittings on the shirt.

http://www.colder.com/Products/Plast...px?ProductId=3

- Coleman Cooler - I think it's a 9 quart? Got it from K-Mart for $11.

- 1/4" tubing from Home Depot

I purchased a cool shirt and cut the connectors off the tubes. The Colder connectors have barbed ends and fit right on.

I think it's about $50 in connectors, $20 for the pump, $11 for the cooler, a few bucks for the tubing. I forget how much the shirt was. Bottom line is I saved a bunch of money and it works just like the "real" setup.

You should be able to order the connectors from Colder or you can call my friend Bob Gassie at 407 701 6384. He has 2 Panoz cars and has an extra set he wants to sell. Just talked to him tonight.

Jim

Re: Show me your cool-shirt setup.

Almost forgot... the strap to secure the cooler was not as easy to find as I thought it would be. I purchase plastic buckles from McMaster Carr and nylon strap.

Buckles

P/N 29705T86
http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/115/1522/=28hxbs

1" Black Nylon Webbing

P/N 3510T12 (When you order 10' the P/N becomes 3510T126)
http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/115/1522/=28hzpu

I think I have more buckles somewhere. If you need some let me know and I'll send them to you.
