1988 ford ranger

Does anybody know what the the round thing is called that connects the fuel line between the two fuel pumps?

I should have bought a different truck. I have sunk $800 into my truck in
the last month. Didn't pass smog, but since the repair shop unclogged the
EGR ??? valve, it's been one thing after another.

Thank-you to any replys.
