stripped nut, please help

hello all i have a 1999 chrysler cirrus lxi, need new lower ball joints. have to replace the whole lower control arm. did the driver side, but cant figure out how to do the passenger side. the problem is that the bracket the is attached to the nut holding the front of the control arm in, is gone. tried to use a closed end crescent wrench, it started working and then the nut stripped. i have been using penetrating oil, and let it sit for a few hours before starting. does anyone have any ideas? i have extra bolts, so im not worried about damaging the bolt and nut. thanks, ps, the nut sits inside the frame and you have maybe 1 1/2 inches to work with, the bolt sits on the exterior.

Re: stripped nut, please help

Either get replacement pieces at your local pick-your-part junkyard or bore and tap what you've got for a slightly larger nut.

Don't make the mistake of taking certain suspension parts from a Stratus, they have slightly different dimensions to go with a 14" wheel. Cirrus is 15".
