Questions about cold air intakes.

So I was wondering what makes a CAI better than another CAI. Like why is one way more expensive than another? I'm starting to think it's just a name brand thing, because it seems like all it is is some pipe and a filter you know?

Also how would I go about getting the most performance out of it? Would I have to reset or recalibrate the ECU to get it synced up with my engine?

Same question for short ram intakes as well.

Re: Questions about cold air intakes.

Also you really have to take into account where you live and what is around you such as rainy areas or places that always seem to have flooded streets alot or places with a good amount of blowing dust. With those areas you will find yourself in need of a bypass valve that is worth a damn or else you run the risk of hydrolock that is if you get a true CAI that runs into the fender well. With high dirt areas you end up needing to regularly check the filter and keep it clean or the thing is going to end up doing more harm then good.
