1993 chevy Lumina Crankshaft Position Sensor
I am 98% sure that I need to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on my lumina. It has a 3.4 motor. Can anyone give me some advice on how to do these. I have a Chiltons Manual for the car but the details are very vague. I can't really make sense of it. Sorry to sound stupid, just need a little help. Thanks in advance!!

Re: 1993 chevy Lumina Crankshaft Position Sensor
Just replaced mine. Same motor, 3.4L. I just bought the car and it did not run when i bought it. After banging my head off the wall chasing wires and fuel lines. I replaced spark plugs and wires, as well as the CPS (had to have a kid with small hands help me get it out and back in place). It is a pain in the neck to get to. It is between the oil pan and the trany pan about a foot or more up from underneath. One 8mm bolt holds it in and it has one plug on it. Once bolt is out and unpluged it is popped in by an O-ring. But... car still wont run. Timing has got to be off. I know that it is a self timed system that starts with the CPS. I pulled the timing belt cover and the belt is trashed. Not broken though. I looked in my chiltons on how to replace it and its gonna be a long day. Not sure if that will completely fix my start problems though. Cranks over and is getting fuel and spark but wont run. If it is cold it will run for like 3 seconds and then nothing.
