Got a bunch done today w/ my father... new tach, new fire system, hood pins etc.

Towed the car down to Greensboro, NC to it's new home in my father's garage Friday night. He finally has a place to park our car trailer and he's only 50 min from VIR so it makes sense to keep it here. Plus it frees up my garage for my new Jetski

Finished the hoodpin setup, but forgot to take pics of the hood on. Installed a new Autometer 5" analog tach, a manual fan switch, and a new Firefox fire system.

Hood won't be going anywhere now... will snap a pic of the pretty side tomorrow. I used allen headed bolts w/ lock nuts and washers similar to what the rest of the car uses. Got it all at Fastenal.

The tach was the big project... and I'm very happy we did it. I ended up pillaging the stock EFI wiring harness remnants from our carb swap for wires and more importantly a plug so I could make a quick disconnect for the tach and remove the dash easily. Took a long time getting it just right and soldering the connections, but it wall works!

All wire loomed and pretty after verifying it works...

Converted my interior wiper motor wire/switch to a manual fan switch

New Firefox setup installed... was able to shorten the previous bottle's hold-downs to fit the narrower firefox. Also was able to ue the existing nozzles, but installed a new pull cord. Nice setup... but no instructions, but I figured it out.

The new lexan windshield didn't come in on Friday for me to help install it, but I have to say taking the glass out made it 1000x easier to work on the car.

G'night!

what kind of weight is that....you are using those on the entire bodywork? What happened to the nice little SS button head cap screws (allen heads) with flange nuts that PAD uses? They use a 3/16" drill and 1/8th allen wrench....

yours look HUGE! There is a 100 of those things on our car. Did you change them all out? Maybe is the scale in the photo

Car always looks way dirtier w/ a camera flash than it really is for some reason. I wiped everything down with windex while I had the glass out and vaccumed it all up

Actually what you're seeing is the washer under the nut on the underside of the hood to spread the clamp load. The hardware is the exact same stuff Panoz uses, but with a slightly coarser thread... same size allen head and same size 7/16" socket to take them off. I took on to Fastenal with me to match it.

More work done today... we cleaned the car up, mounted the R6s and did all the track prep to it. Also added some fresh plug wire protectors etc.

R6 scrubs - 275/40/17s

New Plug wire boots

Daytime shot of the new tach and firebottle

Hoodpins done

Was about to wash it and put a coat of Rejex on the front end, but have to head back to Va Beach.

Car sharing it's new home w/ my father's LeMans Edition Z16 Z06 Corvette (which is for sale BTW).
