Remote Power door locks
Has anyone ever installed these on there car before?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/REMOT...Q5fAccessories Both my locks in both doors are seized up. Is there a way to fix them or do I have to replace them? |

Re: Remote Power door locks
I would never trust those things that you posted. Pull your locks out, clean them up and free up the locking mechanisms and then put some graphite lube on them and you should be good to go.

Re: Remote Power door locks
how do you free it up? Do I just hit it gently on the side w/ a hammer? Would PB blaster do the trick?

Re: Remote Power door locks
When I was doing my power lock conversion I was looking all over on reviews on those generic kits. Although I never looked at the ones with the remotes on them, I always read nothing but great reviews on the generic ones. Everyone actually recommend the generic over the actual factory locks.

Re: Remote Power door locks
I was more or less looking for the range of difficulty when it comes to installing and then reliability.
It's hard to even put the key into the chamber it's hardened right up. |
