Alpine type r 12"
I was told by a friend that these subs wont sound good in a vented box, Is their any truth behind this? I like the subs specs, price and i want to go with a vented box too get that little bit more oomph?

they dont sound all that good to start with. But the SQ in a ported VS sealed is minimal. Ported will be louder for sure

Ported enclosures are meant for loudness not sound quality.
