Clicking noise with the radio
Hey all, I've got a 2001 Grand Am SE and I've been having problems with my radio and an aggravating clicking noise.
About 4 years ago I worked with a guy who gave me a free Sony CD player he had so that I could hook up subwoofers if I wanted to. So we removed the stock radio, installed the Sony, and eventually I did buy some subs, but ended up selling them later and left the Sony in. The problem started with the power box that came with wiring (I think it was for the subs, but, it's been awhile and I'm not very car-savvy). It started randomly clicking, radio on or radio off. And after 4 years I finally had enough of it, so I unconnected it all this morning and put my stock radio back in, and now after the annoying door-chime goes away, I get an additional chiming noise! I didn't sit around long enough to determine a set pattern but it chimed once, there was a few seconds pause, then two, then three, then two, then three, and it just keeps doing that. Any ideas? I looked through the manual and didn't see anything. Oh, I never did my hazard/turn signal recall, and whenever my hazards started wigging out and randomly flashing it always makes the clicking noise. Thanks for looking, Matt |

Re: Clicking noise with the radio
I would replace the hazard/flasher. Mine went bad and made a clicking sound.
