Wheel Bearing...

Okay I replaced the passenger side wheel bearing Appx 2 mons ago, and I knew at the time it was the problem I pulled the wheel bearing out and put it on my Index finger and rotated it I could feel the bump which made the loud noises when I was driving fast the "Humm". Any way how long does it take a wheel bearing to wear out, cause I know my rear end is bad and I know that it can feed the sound back up through the drive-shaft and have a lil "Humm" to it. But It is making a "Humm" sound aroun 65 - 70mph. Also it doesnt matter if I cut the wheel left or right It still makes the "humm" sound.

Rear-end humming sounds at a particular speed may be the ring-and-pinion gears. They may have worn a bit or have some looseness that has altered their mesh pattern, creating a hum. Often this noise will change a bit when you are coasting. vs. accelerating. Bearing noise tends not to change with throttle position.

As for humming bearings.... rear end bearings often can hum for a long time before going really bad. However, it probably is not a good idea to neglect them. Most outer axle shaft bearings ride on the axle shaft itself. Bad bearings may chew up this axle surface. Sometimes this can be repaired by an off-set bearing, sometimes not.
