Blazer stalls
My 1991 Blazer 4.3 auto trans dies when you come to stop. I can shut the ignition off and it will restart just fine. I can drive it and it runs fine all day until I have to stop. When it is almost stopped the engine shakes a little and then dies. Shut it off and restart and it's fine until I stop again. I'm thinking it could be the torque converter not unlocking but I don't have any ideal what all controls it or where to start looking first. It only has 199,000 miles on it and it shifts up through the gears just fine. Any ideal?
thanks Don |

Re: Blazer stalls
What transmission?
Will it die any other time. Any check engine lights or codes? When you come to a stop does it act like a standard transmission when you do not step on the clutch when stopping>

Re: Blazer stalls
700R4 Ya it acts like a standard transmission coming to a stop without pushing the clutch in. No it doesn't die any other time just when I come to stop.
No codes or check engine lights |

Re: Blazer stalls
Make sure brake light switch is breaking the TCC lockup circuit connection.
If so replace the lockup solenoid.
