Help with window problem!!

Ok so my passenger window won't go up or down using either the drivers side or the passenger side switch. So i unplugged the connecter to the motor and just powered it with my battery and it works perfectly. I also just put battery power to the connector at the switch and it made the window go up and down. So then i tested power to the switch and everything is getting power, so i thought it was just the door switch so i got a new one and it still doesnt work. So today i tested out some more. I checked for resistance from the connector inbetweeen the door to the connector at the switch and it had .1 ohms so that checked out fine. Then i ohmed out from the switch connector to the connector at the motor and it also came out to .1 ohms. So ive come to the conclusion that there are no problems with the wiring and the motor works fine. Im am completely stumped on this one, if anyone has any ideas i would greatly appreciate it.

I will bet you that is the problem. It is ok, I have WAY overlooked problems before too. I remember a couple years back I had to take my mom's car pick some stuff up and it would not start. I tried jumping the battery, and it still would not even turnover. I then checked how much power was getting from the battery to the starter and everything appeared to be fine. Turns out the damn car was in drive with the park brake on so it wouln't start unless it was in neutral or park. However, I did not take the time to look at that.

Maybe it was you, maybe it was someone else, but I remember someone from here IMing me one evening about an issue.

They said the ignition wouldn't turn at all. Said they tried everything and was about to drill the ignition out.

I told them to wiggle the steering wheel while they turned the key and see what happens.

They came back minutes later and said something along the lines of "Son of a bitch. I never thought of the steering wheel being locked would prevent the key from turning"

I don't think that was me as the steering wheel moved fine and it is something I already knew about (I guess I also knew that I couldn't have it in drive while trying to start the damn thing but just over looked it lol). However, it is one thing I have learned is to start with the very very basic things first when trying to diagnose a problem.
