2000 grand marquis water leak...

The old car has sprung a leak... Last night driving home the check engine light came on and it got hot...

Well today I checked the water pump and it just fine, the leak seems to be coming from a metal tube with a flaired end coming from behind the pump and runs under the injection system.. I cannot see any visable cracks in the line but thats were the leak is... so how do I fix it, more importantly is how I even get to it to change it out...

That is a common place for a leak. Also be sure the intake has not cracked. Easiest way to replace the tube is to remove the intake. You can wiggle and wrestle the new one in, but it is a royal pain. Or you can use heater hose and cut out the curved parts and install heater hose in place of the straight line areas. Use the curved metal parts to make the bends so you do not crimp the heater hose.

Holy cow what a removal project!!!! Spent about 2.5 hours just removing the intake to get to the problem..... I swear the worst part of the whole thing were the brackets that bolt to the rear of the block.....

Today the parts search begins..... wish me luck...

To get the actual original part, you will probably need to go to a dealer or salvage yard. You can use heater hose and use metal to make the turns. Will be a lot cheaper and works just as well.
