Red face remote fob programing

anyone know how to program a key fob for a 98. does not have keyless entry. read this about 2 yrs ago but all is forgotten.

Turn key to the on position 8 times. The locks should lock. Then press any button on the remote. I usually use the unlock button. If doors unlock, the remote is programmed. Roll window down and try all the buttons from outside the car to see if they all work.
