power window limit switch

got a 2002 cavi. drivers side window goes up too far. replaced the window motor last year. are the limit switchs in the motor? anyone seen this before?

It goes up too far? I'm pretty sure they stopped making convertible Cavaliers in the 90s, which means that unless I'm wrong about that, it's off the track. There are no switches that limit how far the window will travel, it moves until it hits something. That something should be the top of the door.

its not a convertable. it stays in the track until it gets to the top and pops out and parks itself on top of the aft seal area.

Then most likely the track is bent inside the door, the bottom is probably pushed inboard a bit. Pull the door panel off and see what's going on in there. The top of the window may also be damaged and pushing the glass out, but that would probably be noticeable.
