Jerico for GTS

Anyone convert a GTS to a Jerico 5 speed? Apparently they need a different type of Bell housing converter and shifter. Any picks?

Quicktime should have a bellhousing for that, I have one for my LS1 swap and its a nice piece of work!

A friend has just put a Jerico 5 speed into his C4 vette race car. He had real drama's with getting a bellhousing for this and was told by Jerico that there are no aftermarket bellhousings for the 5 speed (?).

I am pretty sure he ended up having an extra lug welded to a bellhousing he had so that it would take the extra bolt that the 5 speed mount pattern has.

My last car had a Jerico 4 speed in it and that was a really nice box to use in race conditions, well worth the investment.

Re: Jerico for GTS

Thank you. I called Quicktime and they will have some in about a month, however, after further review i am giving up on the 5 speed and going for hte 4 speed. It apprenetly is a major issue with the five speed and the shifter on the side.

Re: Jerico for GTS

Give Gary Jones a call. They have put a Jerico in a GTRA on an awesome 347 stroker. They had to fab a new tunnel to accommodate the linkage. They would be a great source on knowledge on getting them in our cars.

Another box you may want to consider is a Tex Racing T101. These have become very popular over here as they are a little easier to work on than the Jerico and have a main shaft mid support bearing as standard. Also seems to be more used T101 parts listed on E Bay so may be cheaper to 'feed' in service..........

I found the Jerico to be very robust and never broke it but I have seen plenty of broken Jerico's and T101's. Pays to crack test the gears every season if you have a reasonable amount of torque as this is the killer. Also highly recommend using a Long shifter on the Jerico. A nice unit that is extremely positive to use.

Hardest thing I found when looking for a used Jerico was getting one with Road Race ratios and not circle track ratios. In the end I bought a good used Circle Track unit and swapped the ratios over which worked out OK.

Kel.
