Cool Anyone put led's in their Intrigue??

I have led bulbs in the brake lights, third brake light, all marker lights. I also put a 4157 amber bulb in place of the cornering light( light that comes on steady when you turn your turn signal on).

(Sold ) 1999 Intrigue: Fram Air Hog, Bridgestone Potenza G009(Love em, just a little road noise)Upgraded to G019 grids they were even better. Silverstar Low beams and highbeams. Led brake lights, all marker lights and third brake light.

Re: Anyone put led's in their Intrigue??

I tried it for a week and didn't like the overall look for the tailights only, The original bulbs illuminated the tailight housing much nicer, the leds were focused like a cone shape and didn't light up the housing like I want it to.

I think they didn't even look like they were there in the daylight

I didn't take pictures last time its very easy install,

That light that you made amber on the outsides under the fenders do they light up the sides?
I really like that feature off the intrigue it helps me see addresses

You just need the proper led bulb. The bulbs you can buy in the store, suck. If you are interested, PM me and I can send you the link.

The 4157 bulb is bright than the 3156 bulb, so it does light up better. Other thing is at night that bulb lights up with the parking lights too. It is not at full power just parking light level. I like the look.

Re: Anyone put led's in their Intrigue??

As far as exterior wise goes...I have LED marker lights, taillights (3rd brake light is already LED--spoiler), rear turn signals, and license plate lights (cool white).

Since all my stop lights are now LED...I had to do a slight modification to allow my cruise control to actually engage. Rear LED turns signals...I had to modify my flasher so they didn't flash so fast.
My taillights are tinted....that's the main reason I went with LED bulbs...these are much brighter. The reverse bulbs are 50w halogen.

Page 4 shows my interior LEDs.....only incandescent bulbs left inside the car is the courtesy lights.

So to answer your question, yes, I did put LEDs in my Intrigue.

Hey Oldsconn.

What did you do for the flasher, did you put a resistor, or something else. I already have the bulbs, just haven't put them in yet...

Re: Anyone put led's in their Intrigue??

Well, the flasher circuitry is built into the hazard switch...so I had to take that apart...which I have done before (put a red LED in it).

I lifted pin 7 "lamp outage detection" of the Atmel U6043B IC. Doing this did slow down the super fast flashing "lamp outage detection" a bit. It was still a little faster than normal though.
So I had to change the timing resistor from 39kohms to 56kohms (56kohms is what I found to be close to the stock flashing rate. The reason I didn't just change the resistor is because when I put the hazards on, it flashed at the normal rate (both bulbs flashing presented the load required by the IC).

Have you tried your cruise control out? Let me know if you need help with that one as well.

Thanks 4 the pics. I have tried my cruise, that is why I only have one led bulb 4 the third brake light. Which sucks. I was going to try a resistor, just didn't know how big the wattage needed to be. If I have time to take my flasher out, I will try lifting the leg on that chip. How much faster was it compared to incan. bulbs?
