Intermittent Driver's power window

I have a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera with power windows. The driver's side window switches will only work when the door is slightly open. I couldn't find any loose wires inside the door, nor does it have any door jam switches. I'm thinking it's a ground issue, but I don't know where to look next.

Sounds like a broken wire in the door hinge area (where the wires go from the door into the body). The wires break after a while. Pull the rubber protector out of the door & body and pull on the individula wires until you find the one that's broken. Repair wire and you should be good for another year or two. (Had this happen on my 91 Olds Cutlass Ciera on both doors).
