Re: It just got worse...

You have to find out why its not starting.

You need to see if you have spark, fuel, etc then go from there.

Re: It just got worse...

common things.

do u have gas???

spark,

f its turning u should have power.

not so common things

compression? bent valves etc.

sensors?? crank angle sensor will cause it to turn but not start. cam angle will to. make sure they r connected on the crank and cam as well asthe wiring harness.

um um um ignition module or coils (module is underneath coil packs.

if u cant do it urself get a mechanic u trust to check it out

Re: It just got worse...

It was kind of taking a few seconds longer to start than I think it should starting a couple of weeks ago. I just thought I could use a tune up... could a fried fuse be the problem? I pulled the engine fuse out and it was burned on one side.

Re: It just got worse...

Alright, thanks for everyone's help. But it just turned out that my engine fuse was all burned up... I don't know how that happened. But when I changed it my car started right up.

Re: It just got worse...

Which fuse was it? I would say possibly a bad ecu that but not really that common on 2nd gens (94+). Take off the "w" connector on the right side where your fuel rails connect to eachother and have someone try and start the car to see if gas comes shooting through the front fuel rail. I would highly reccomend having a rag to catch some of the gas that will potentially shoot out.

I guess I could try that. But why would I check the ECU? And I checking it to see what caused the fuse to burn? I mean, my car starts fine now. It was the blown engine fuse. It's a blue 15amp, in the middle on the top.

Re: It just got worse...

Sometimes the caps can leak in the ECU on to the board causing it to malfunction and come up with problems like yours. It is much more common in 1st gens though.

It's real easy to spot once you get the ECU open as well.

Re: It just got worse...

You'll look for that goo crap that leaks out of the caps to be on the green electric board (for lack of a better word ).
