Re: race time

im pretty sure stock GTPs only make 240, according to the factory. but anyway i think it would all depend on each of your launches, cuz according to 0-60 and quarter mile times, you would both be REALLLLY close, but the trans am would win. of course it depends on a billion variables. either way it should be a fun race

Re: race time

93 is getting up there. What motor is in the trans am? 350 or 305, I forget now. I thought my friend had a 92 with a 305 and it was a dog. Not to mention the 93 trans am motor is going to be old and tired (loss compression over the years) compared to the GTP. I dont know..... Throw a smaller pulley on and a PCM quick. Then you'll see.

With my mods I took a 4th gen firebird (pretty sure it had the V8). Man was that guy ticked.

Re: race time

Driver's being equal, you'll lose. The 93 Firebird has the LT-1 engine, and GM purposefully advertised the HP lower than actual for insurance purposes. If your car was modded, you'd stand a better chance, but it'll take a perfect launch on your part, and a bobble on his for you to win.

Re: race time

All power, I think your getting the 260 figure from an 04+ 3800SC GTP. The Series 2 L67 is rated at 240 stock.

somewhere around there. the ram air supposedly adds 10 HP, and the SLP exhaust system is supposed to add 5 HP, so somewhere in the 260 range.

maybe your thinking of the 300 GPX? that was the concept of the GTX, and had a supercharged 3800 series II that was 300 HP.

Re: race time

Assuming he is stock and it is still in somewhat decient condition and that he can drive, the T/A should be able to pull a lower 14 second 1/4 which is faster than the GTP. If he has a manual transmission and simiply can't drive very well you may have a chance at him. However, taking out the variable of drivers, the T/A is the faster car.
