Srs (airbag) Warning Light

92 735iL, replaced lights in instrument cluster. I had to remove airbag and steering wheel. I tested the reassembled cluster before reassembling the steering wheel & airbag. Because the power was applied to the system while testing, without the airbag connected, a fault was set for the SRS system. Does anyone know how to clear this fault?

Anybody have any clues to reset the SRS light in the dashboard. I just had my car serviced and when I got it back I have noticed the SRS light blinks in the dashboard for 5 minutes then remains lit. I have a feeling I can save myself a few hundred dollars from BMW if I figure out how to reset the sensor. Thanks!!

There's a special tool to reset the SRS light and, of course, the dealer has it but others may as well. Call around. But safety sake you should make darn sure there's nothing wrong with the SRS. I was in an accident recently where an old lady ran into the car behind me then that car bumped into me. The old lady didn't even hit the brakes. Her airbag deployed and she received only a cut. With no airbag she would've gone into the sterring wheel and maybe: concussion, disfigured, broken skull, internal bleeding, death?
