Best place to attach engine hoist to a 4.6l?

Anyone removed the 4.6l from our cars? Where is a good place to mount the chains to pull it from the car?

Anyone have any tricks to getting it out? pull the engine AND tranny together?

I will hopefully be pulling it this friday and saturday to get the LS1 in!

May I suggest www.svtperformance.com for pulling tips. That said... after seeing my car w/ the front clip removed it liike like it'd be simple to pull the motor/trans forward and out.

yeah, you have one of those "baby engines"

The 4.6L is a bit more snug.... thing is shoe horned in there.

Holy Shit... that piggie won't even fit between the front frame section. That's why I didn't even look at the 4.6 cars. I had a '97 Cobra vert for about 5 years. Nice fun car, but huge farkin motor!

You'll love how much easier everythign is with a small OHV V8.

Re: Best place to attach engine hoist to a 4.6l?

I know, but for the price you can't beat it, tons of space, free power, its worth the drive....... Usually

And the fact that my wife agreed not to leave me if I would get the car and lift out of our home garage helps too! LOL

Re: Best place to attach engine hoist to a 4.6l?

Very true... looking at your pics I wish I had more than a simple 2 car garage, but I'm a cheap-ass and don't want to pay rent for a shop just yet.

Update your thread w/ some pics this weekend when you get the chance.
