2001 Aztek - fuel pump
I am going to replace the fuel pump on a friends Aztek in his work parking lot. I already cleaned the corrosion off the pass through plug. I jumped 12V to the fuel pump wiring and it didn't run, so I am certain it is the pump.
Now for the question. In order to drop the tank, do I need to jack up the car in order to have the needed clearance to get the fuel tank straps off? Dustin |

Re: 2001 Aztek - fuel pump
If anyone cares, I did jack up the back of the car a bit and it was tight getting the straps off, so it was necessary. Ramps would be easier, but it doesn't run.
It turns out I was wrong about the fuel pump (I was just replacing the pump, not the sending unit.) There is a 4 terminal connector on top of the sending unit and 1 of the contacts was corroded away completely, so now I have an e-bay fuel pump that I don't need and I have to buy a sending unit. Gotta love those weather-pack connectors. Dustin |
