lt1 turbo?

so im about to moving on from the gtp to a lt1 trans am,i wanna turbo it for sure but i dont know what turbo to go for.whats the best/cheapest kit out there? and if i turbo a stock bottom end what kinda problems should i expect? also if i go for a head/cam package then turbo what kind of numbers could i expect hp wise? my goal is theres a srt-4 neon putting 450hp to the wheels and im trying to take his top spot in town im tired of him being so big headed and stomping on everything around here,thanks for any info.

The big problem with throwing boost at a stock LT1 is the C/R. At MAX, it can handle 8lbs w/ intercooler, or 6lbs w/o intercooler. But even with that, its living on borrowed time. I highly recommend forging the internals before throwing in a lot of boost.

As far an a H/C, you might want to get a package that's made for boost, like a turbo cam, so you can take full potential of the whole setup.
