I can't get the oil pan plug aft of the dipstick tube to stop seeping...

On my 5.0 the Canton RR pan has a bung just aft of where the dipstick tube is inserted. When full of oil the oil level is above the top of the left pan "wing". As a result the oil seeps up the threas of the plug and slowly drips on my floor. I've sealed it before and the shop that just did all the work on the car says they pulled it out and re-sealed it. Well... I still hava a damn spot on the floor in the exact same place.

Anyone else have this issue?

Brian, I used to until I used Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant to seal the threads. I use this on all sorts of applications, from engine studs through to sump plugs (if required). It aint cheap but it works.

Hmmm.... I've got normal Permatex, but I'll give this a go. Going to have to drain some oil to get the oil level down. I may just wait until after our June weekend when I change the oil.
