Weird stock radio/speaker problem????
Basically my radio works and my dash speakers work but other than that my rear and door speakers do not work at all. I've looked at all the wires I can find and they seem to be good. Hopefully this is just a problem with my radio because I'm putting in a CD player soon but if not I guess I'll have to buy an amp and some speakers.
Anyone got any ideas on the possible problems or fixes? I find it hard to believe all 4 speakers are blown. The car doesn't have an external amp so it's not that. I'm at a loss for whats causing this. Am I just going to have to buy an amp to run my speakers?

Re: Weird stock radio/speaker problem????
how old are the speakers ? if they are older and the factory ones, they may all be bad

Re: Weird stock radio/speaker problem????
Another weird thing to consider. I just looked up the wiring diagram and the 2 dash speakers are wired directly to the door speakers so that rules out something in the wiring.
But I'm getting my 6x9s for the back in a couple days and my new HU installed in a couple days whenever I find time so I guess I'll find out then. So I guess if I have to I'll buy some door speakers as well.

Re: Weird stock radio/speaker problem????
the dash speakers are often just tweeters and are connected to the door speakers with a cap that acts a a simple crossover

Re: Weird stock radio/speaker problem????
So basically the problem has to be the speakers right?

Re: Weird stock radio/speaker problem????
Hi, I just purchased a SONY VAIO desktop computer and decided not to use the stock speakers, but to use my Viewsonic speakers. It didn't make any sound! Nevertheless, when I tried with the stock SONY (cheap) speakers, then it works.
Observation: The plugs of both speakers are exactly the same size and type. They both have AC plug for power. I tested the Viewsonic speakers on another desktop computer and it worked perfectly. Anyone knows what the heck is going on? cart456 dui |
