whining from engine area-hesitant after warming up

I have a 2000 venture. It has a whining noise when accelarating. Goes away when idling or you just let off the gas. Comes back everytime you give it gas. Also, as of a week ago, it has been getting hesitant after it warms up say about 20-30 miles drive time. It is fine until then. Any suggestions for these problems would be appreciated. It has about 130k miles on it also.

When you say it's hesitant when it warms up, do you mean the engine or tranny?

That whining noise comes from the tranny (at least it did in my Silo).
