no matter what i set my control to ac, defrost , floor board or what, it always blows out the defrost. Does anyone know anything about this?? a vacuum leak maybe??

Yes you probably have a vacuum leak to the door in the heater housing that directs the air flow. It's either that or the vacuum motor is defective. It's designed so that in case it fails the system goes to defrost. This is a safety factor .
