hi i have a 93 trans am i put a new opti distributor in old one went out after putting new distributor in car started running weird when given gas it wants to die car sounds more loud and deep doesent sound normal..and the exhaust manifold are getting red hot on both sides..cannot figure out whats going on any help?

Sounds like you are running dangerously lean.
Check fuel pressure and then get the injectors tested. |

Or your timing could be off. Usually, the manifolds/headers get hotter or glow red when the timing is retarted. This causes the air/fuel mixture to still be burning while in the exhaust phase of the cycle. So, check your timing.
