HELP! Quickly!

Today I put in a gauge cluster from a 90 civic si into my 91 civic/ Dx. I wanted the Tach. I changed the odometer from the 90 civic si and put in the odometer from my 91 civic DX. I put everything back together and started my car. MY Speedometer is not working! I have taken the gauge cluster on and off three or four times but I can't get the speedometer to work. HELP WHAT AM I sapposed to do. Is this normal for the swap and is there anybody who has had this issure. Ohh I tried the old odometer set up off the 90 civic si and it still didn't work.
ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

hmm.. my cluster swap worked just fine... maybe u got a faulty one? my first guess would be a bad connection, but since u took it off 3 times i dunno.

I think it maybe my speedometer cable. Could I have broken it in the swap? or is there a special trick to getting the speedometer working Ex: reseting the ECU or disconnecting the battery.
thanks

i thought the tach had to do with a "charge" coming off the engine, not the speedo cable... although the speedo cable might assist.?

when i did my swap, it was a straight in and out deal... u dont have to mess around with anything else.

The cable probably didn't click into it. You need to take the cluster before its screw in and get the back of it as close to the cable clip as possible. Push the cable in and you will hear the click, tug on it to make sure its in good. Then screw it in and all that. Same thing happened to me at first.

Tach is electrical, as long as the harness is plugged in it will work. Speedo is cable driven.

Well the tach works great but the speedo is the problem. I pushed the cable in and it did click but it slid in very easily. Was the cable really hard to push on becuase a couple of the times it was really hard to pus on and it never clicked and other times it just slid on.

The reason I swaped out the Odometer was becuase I wanted my miliage to match up. I don't think It isfaulty because the speedometer is from my original cluster. The odoemeter and Speecometer are part of the same system in the gauge. It literally should be like undoing and putting the same stuff back together but it is not for some reason.
