2009 X5 19" Wheels mounted on a 2006 X5

Could someone comment on this situation. I installed 2009 19" X5 wheels on my 2006. I now have a "wobble" in the steering. I am being told that the 2006 hub size is 72.56mm and the 2009 is 74.1mm. It has been suggested that I install concentric hub spacers. They look like a donut made out of polycarbon that is 72.56mm ID X 74.1 mm OD. The differance in these two dimenions is around 1/16". You would not think 1/16" off center would make a differance, but I guess when you figure the mass and the size of the tire/wheel combination, it may make sense. Any thoughts?
