99 silverado-bad driver seat track

driver seat in 99 silverado 1500 stuck in all the way back position. have read manuals telling me to push seat to full forward position to unbolt from floor-if i could do this would be here asking.is it possible to remove seat from floor bolted track somehow.saet releases on left track but not on right track.appears to be something inside the track itself that keeps seat from moving.both claw releases work when u pull on release bar.anybody who knows what is inside the track (loks to be somekind of plastic piece) or how to remove seat from track i sure would appreciate your help.

this is all I can recommend if you cannot remove the mounting hardware....try to remove the seat cushion for access..

Re: 99 silverado-bad driver seat track

I'd be getting a good flashlight and one of those little round mirrors on a stick to find if I could see what was jamming it up. Maybe use something to poke around in there and see if you can dislodge anything. Lose a ballpoint pen lately??
A friend of mine has a Mercedes 2 door. The drivers seat (electric) wouldn't go back. He went forward to see what the problem was and couldn't find anything. Now it is stuck all the way forward and he couldn't even get in it to take it to the shop. He had to have it towed.

Same problem happended to me... its a white plastic molding that broke in the track. I had to get n the backseat and squat the crap out of it to budge then the seat wouldn't lock at all, i had a row machine seat, lol. Finally my friend just bolted it in one place for me. So now it's custom fit for me.
