1989 Burb - Electrical Issue

Hi Everyone

So I have been a long time registered lurker here, but have come up with an issue that I just cant solve and need some help. I have an 89 burb 1500 5.7 350 4 x 4 with complete tow package install. The thing runs fine but when I hook up my trailer to the light plug, every 5-10 seconds you can hear a click (like the blinker click but louder) all the lights in the Burb and trailer go dim then come back. This continues until the trailer lights are disconnected and then it goes back to normal.

Any ideas?

You have a short in your trailer wiring.

Unhook the trailer tail light wire and see if it quits.
If so check trailer wiring and tail light circuit for short to ground.

Awesome... This did the trick, it was a short in the plug itself, replaced and all is great now...

Thanks
Adam
