OBD Port on Camry 1989

Where is the OBD port on Camry 1989 located and how can I get to it?

The OBD port (service connector) of the 1989 Camry is located near the brake fluid reservoir on the drivers side of the car. Other year Camrys may be similar. Below are a few pics.









This is a picture of the underside of the cap of the service connector (OBD port). As you can see it provides the infomation needed to know which connectors are TE1 and E1.







I copied this out of my Haynes manual. It provides the basic info. on checking the codes for 1983 - 1991 Camrys.

Please note that this info says to bridge terminals T and E1. Actually it is supposed to say bridge terminals TE1 and E1. It must of been a misprint.

Your welcome. I posted that 7 + years ago when I owned my 4 cyl. 1989 Camry. I miss that car. I currently own a 4 cyl. 2003 Camry. Take care.
